Lower the risk from the vaccine by failing to report adverse reactions:"Studies based on voluntary reports gave reassuringly low estimates, one case of meningitis per 143,000 (notification by doctors) to 250,000 (voluntary reports by paediatricians). But when greater efforts were made to identify cases, for instance by cross-linking laboratory and hospital reports to vaccination records, the risk rose to between 1 in 4,000 and 1 in 21,000. These findings suggested significant under-reporting of Urabe vaccine-associated meningitis, and led to the withdrawal of the vaccine from the market in 1992."---Trevor Gunn BSc "They claim the vaccines are safe, but physicians are indoctrinated to disbelieve claims of harm and are not trained to recognize nor required to report any adverse reactions. The FDA estimates that only about 10% of adverse reactions are reported (Reported by KM Severyn, R.Ph.D. in the Dayton Daily News, May 28, 1993. Ohio Parents for Vaccine Safety, 251 Ridgeway Dr., Dayton, OH 45459), a figure supported by two NVIC investigations (NVIC, "Investigative Report on the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System"). In fact, the NVIC reported that in New York, only one out of about 40 doctor's offices(2.5%) confirmed that they did report a death or injury following vaccination. "According to the CDC MMWR publication (two studies on file) more than 99 percent of such brain damage cases never get reported."---Leonard Horowitz RESEARCHERS CAN'T TELL IF SHOTS ARE SLOWING CHICKENPOX VAERS reported "11 developed intussusception within 1 week of receiving RRV-TV" out of 1.8 million doses administered, which is a rate of about 0.6 out of 100,000. Kaiser Permanente studied the rate for its patients and found that "Among children who had received RRV-TV during the previous week, the rate was 314 per 100,000 infant-years." Minnesota did a study in its state and found that "the observed rate of intussusception within 1 week of receipt of RRV-TV was 292 per 100,000 infant-years." Hence the actual rate of this adverse effect from the rotavirus vaccine was about 300/0.6 = 500 times the rate reported through VAERS! "There are perhaps 30,000 biomedical journals in the world, and they have grown steadily by 7% a year since the seventeenth century. Yet only about 15% of medical interventions are supported by solid scientific evidence, David Eddy, Professor of Health Policy and Management at Duke University, North Carolina, told a conference in Manchester last week. This is partly because only 1% of the articles in medical journals are scientifically sound and partly because many treatments have never been assessed at all. "If," said Professor Eddy "it is true, as the total quality management gurus tell us, that ‘every defect is a treasure’ then we are sitting on King Solomon’s mine." It was put more realistically in a very personal way in 1973 by Dr Robert Good, on pgs 514-515 in a book called "The Immunoglobulin A System": "I sat in the front row of every class. I took down everything the professor said, complemented this body of knowledge with the information I learned from my instructors in the laboratory, from relevant information I would glean from reading and digesting the best textbooks on each subject, and even from extracting the substance of the most relevant articles in contemporary scientific journals. All this I included in my notes for study in beautiful Morocco-bound notebooks. The scheme seemed to work because it gave me very high grades in school, top scores in state and national board examinations, and my choice of training spots and fellowships. I closed my notebooks, however, for 10 years. When I opened them again and studied them 10 years after so carefully completing them, I was astonished to find that they were almost entirely filled with lies. Except for a few descriptions, such as well-established anatomy, everything that seemed so orderly and beautiful with the rather comprehensive treatment I had given it for one moment in history had changed, grown and been reordered by the scholarship of the intervening 10 years." " The Taylor study is seriously flawed in many ways, as had been noted in a number of letters to the editor of The Lancet and in a number of additional letters on the subject which have been posted on the internet. It was subject to strong attack at a recent meeting of the British Statistical Society. I have been a full-time researcher my entire professional life, for almost 50 years, and I respectfully asked Dr. Taylor for a copy of the data so that I could reanalyze them. He refused this ordinary professional courtesy, and I have subsequently written to the editor of The Lancet requesting that an impartial committee be asked to reexamine Dr. Taylor’s statistical methods. If he refuses again, I urged The Lancet to retract his paper."--Dr Rimland "The computer records from the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, obtained by Gannett News Service using the Freedom of Information Act as part of a four-month study of federal immunization policy, reveal: Of 253 infant death cases awarded more than $61 million by the U.S. Court of Federal Claims in the 1990s under the compensation program, 224, or 86 percent, were attributed to vaccination with DTP, the diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough) shot. In these cases, mortality was originally attributed to SIDS in 90, or 40 percent, of them. Of 771 total claims filed by parents from 1990 through mid-1998, 660, or 86 percent, contained assertions that DTP was the cause of death. For years the Ministry of Health has rubbished claims that a rise in cot deaths shortly after vaccinations is linked to the immunisations, saying "there is no evidence" to suggest a link. But when concerned parents asked pathologists whether they tested for vaccine complications during infant autopsies, they were told "no". On the face of it, then, this seems a strong argument for sticking with MMR. But Dr Hiroki Nakatani, director of the Infectious Disease Division at Japan's Ministry of Health and Welfare, has a very different story to tell. He says that in 1989, when Japan first introduced MMR, there were 34 deaths from measles; in 1990, there were 53 deaths; in 1991, 39; and in 1992, 14. Then, in 1993, the Japanese government moved from recommending MMR to single vaccines instead. The number of deaths from measles per year has since remained at between 14 and 25. So in fact, in the years Japan was using MMR there were on average rather more deaths from measles -- quite apart from the deaths and serious damage done by the vaccine -- than since single jabs were introduced."-- http://www.melaniephillips.com/
It will be noted that whereas at the time of the introduction of antitoxin in 1894 the final diagnosis of diphtheria was changed from clinical to bacteriological and resulted in the inclusion of thousands of ordinary sore throats in the diphtheria statistics and a consequent fall in the case mortality, a manoeuvre favourable to the use of the antitoxin), the present change, in abandoning the hitherto accepted bacteriological diagnosis, automatically reduces the number of cases of diphtheria and therefore produces figures apparently favourable to immunisation, the latest craze. But in addition to this fundamental change of front there has to be mentioned another alteration in diagnosis. This consists in the refusal to classify cases as diphtheria among the immunised, on the ground that they only present mild symptoms. According to the Medical Officer of Health for Ipswich (see East Anglian Times, February 22nd, 1934), it has become the practice not to regard as diphtheria persons who, after immunisation, develop sore throats even though the presence of the Klebs-Loeffler bacilli (hitherto considered to be diagnostic of the disease) can be demonstrated in them. Such a manoeuvre is not only bound to falsify all subsequent vital statistics, but can be shown to be unjustifiable on grounds of medical pathology, for the assumption that mild cases are not likely to be diphtheria is not borne out by historical records."----Beddow Bayly

off estimated, hypothetical numbers as actual cases. This
is statistical fraud. In the financial world such mis-representation
would lead to criminal charges. If a company inflated its
earnings or revenues by 300% (as the CDC does hepatitis B

data (and not some back-of-the-envelope guess-timate) - that
company would be investigated by the SEC and sued by shareholders.
Why doesn’t that happen in the medical world? There’s no regulator
to keep the CDC honest. They do not say those figures are
hypothetical estimates, they misrepresent the data. Go try
to audit those 320,000 supposed new infections/yr. You will
not find them. The whole exercise is designed to increase
public hysteria about the risk of a low-risk disease so the
CDC can extend it’s pervasive influence and Merck can increase

"The British Medical Journal ran a very revealing article recently, entitled Selling Sickness. the money. Even though you can't prove what you're going to
do with the money, you spend it. "One didn't have to be a political genius to realize that if social and economic issues dominated the election, the Bush administration did not have a chance. Accordingly, it was necessary to concoct a huge threat to our survival, which the powerful leader will manage to overcome, miraculously. For the elections, the strategy barely worked. Polls reveal that voters maintained their preferences, but suppressed concerns over jobs, pensions, benefits, etc., in favor of security. Something similar will be needed for the presidential campaign. All of this is second nature for the current incumbents. They are mostly recycled from the more reactionary sectors of the Reagan-Bush administrations, and know that they were able to run the country for 12 years, carrying out domestic programs that the public largely opposed, by pushing the panic button regularly: Libyan attempting to "expel us from the world" (Reagan), an air base in Grenada from which the Russians would bomb us, Nicaragua only "two-days driving time from Harlingen Texas," waving their copies of Mein Kampf as they planned to take over the hemisphere, black criminals about to rape your sister (Willie Horton, the 1988 presidential campaign), Hispanic narcotraffickers about to destroy us, and on and on."--------- Noam Chomsky Interviewed by Noam Chomsky and Michael Albert April 13, 2003
