CANCER: WHAT DIETS WILL HELP?
There is one fact of which we are very certain: the single
most important thing you can do that offers you the best survival
chance against cancer is to eat right. There is not much chance
of beating the disease if you insist in eating the SAD (standard
American diet).
According to The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF), eating
at least five portions of vegetables and fruits each day could,
in itself, reduce cancer rates by 20%. Eating healthily, plus
staying physically active and maintaining a healthy weight,
can cut cancer risk by 30-40%. The WCRF supplies evidence that
half of all breast cancer cases, three out of four cases of
stomach cancer and three out of four cases of colon cancer could
be prevented by dietary measures alone.
There is nothing wrong in eating for pleasure. But from now
on your main interest in food is as a medicine! As expected,
most of the foods perceived as nice are the damaging ones. However
we put it to you that the foods most people favour and become
addicted to will not seem very special, once you have developed
the love and attraction of natural plain foods, cooked in simple
style, with lots of good flavoursome herbs and loads of antioxidants.
If you want to go the whole way, you may wish to enrol on
comprehensive dietary-management schemes, such as the famous
Gerson diet or the Kelley Program. Just be warned these are
demanding and will consume almost your whole day in preparation
and action. Here is a suggestion for a middle of the road diet
but this should be regarded as a minimum, if you are serious
about your predicament.
Foods to avoid: red meat, dairy produce, refined
white flour, sugar, tea, coffee, alcohol, yeasty and fermented
foods of all kinds, spinach, celery, beets, added salt, any
and all manufactured foods (tins, packets, jars, bottles).
Foods to eat: whole grains, fresh fruit, all
vegetables (except spinach, celery and beets), fish, chicken
or other fowl, salads, herb and spice flavourings, fruit juice,
herb teas, spring water. Take lots of red foods, like tomato,
because they contain lycopene, which has been shown to help
definitely against a number of cancers, including prostate.
Take plenty of brassicas (cabbage and kale family) because they
are rich in indole-3-carbinol, which is highly active against
oestrogen-sensitive tumours, such as ovary, breast and probably
prostate.
Drink lots of water (at least 2 litres a day) it helps the kidneys
wash out toxins. Note: if you are intolerant to any foodstuff,
don’t eat it, even if it’s on our “allowed” list. That would
put strain on your precious immune system.
Many published scientific studies show the value of a low-salt
diet against cancer. Reduce or eliminate salt, which effectively
means avoid all manufactured food and do not add salt to your
cooking. You can add potassium salt instead (it doesn't work
though! - the taste just isn't there!)
Caution: very low sodium diets can make you feel weak and dizzy.
Add a little back to your food on your plate, where only YOU
control the amounts.
HOT TIP
Juicing vs. smoothies.
You will be told to juice; this means to pulp food,
keep the juice and throw away the rest. I consider this
ignorant and foolish. There is a great deal of goodness
in the solid matter you throw away. It contains masses
of cell membrane phospholipids, which are essential
for healthy tissue performance. Better to use a food
blender to turn your mixture into a smooth paste containing
all the plant matter.
Try this formula: 2 ounces of any juice (as a base),
half an avocado, half a pear, 2 medium carrots and a
handful of black or blue berries. Add one basil leaf
for a flavour zing. Blend for 90 seconds, adding more
juice if necessary.
You’ll need a spoon to eat this thick rich smoothie!

Omega-3 fatty acids
Vital for everyone's health.
Researchers evaluated over 250 patients with breast cancer
and analyzed their fat relative to 90 women without breast cancer.
The analysis showed that there was indeed a protect effect of
omega-3 fatty acids on breast cancer risk and supports the imperative
balance of the omega-3 to omega-6 ratio as being important in
the development of breast cancer.

SPECIAL CANCER DIET REGIMES
There are a number of diets you will encounter and can consider.
The Gerson therapy was named after Dr. Max B. Gerson, who
first used it to treat his migraine headaches. In the 1930's,
Dr. Gerson’s therapy became known to the public as a treatment
for a type of tuberculosis (TB). The Gerson therapy was later
used to treat other conditions, including cancer.
No question it works for many; the commitment required is enormous
and I believe at least part of its success comes from the fact
that only highly motivated patients will tolerate its demanding
routine.
There are 3 key parts to the regimen:
Diet: Organic fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to give
the body plenty of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and other nutrients.
Detoxification: Treatments to remove toxic (harmful) substances
from the body.
Supplementation: The addition of certain substances to the diet,
mainly to increase metabolism.
The Gerson therapy requires that the many details of its treatment
plan be followed exactly. Some key parts of the regimen include
the following:
Drinking 13 glasses of juice a day. The juice must come from
organic fruits and vegetables and be taken once every hour within
15 minutes of being made.
Eating vegetarian meals of organically grown fruits, vegetables,
and whole grains.
Taking a number of supplements, including an iodine solution
called Lugol's iodine, vitamin B 12, potassium, thyroid hormone,
a crude liver extract with B12 (taken by injection), and pancreatic
enzymes.
Taking enemas regularly, including coffee or chamomile enemas,
to remove toxins from the body.
Preparing food without salt, spices, and aluminum cookware
or utensils.
There are no major scientific trials supporting the Gerson
diet. However, in 1946, Dr. Gerson told Congress that about
30% (3 out of 10) of the cancer patients treated with his therapy
had a good response. In 1947, the National Cancer Institute
(NCI) reviewed the cases of 10 patients treated by Dr. Gerson.
The patients were also receiving other anticancer treatments,
however, and it was not proven that changes in the patients’
conditions were due to the Gerson therapy or another treatment.
The NCI has not made any other reviews of the Gerson program,
which is unbelievable and frankly scandalous, given the potential.

The Flaxseed (Linseed) oil diet was originally proposed by
Dr. Johanna Budwig, a German biochemist and expert on fats and
oils, in 1951 and recently re-examined by Dr. Dan C. Roehm M.D.
FACP (Oncologist and former cardiologist) in 1990. Dr. Roehm
claims: "this diet is far and away the most successful
anti-cancer diet in the world".
The theory is: the use of oxygen in the organism can be stimulated
by protein compounds of sulphuric content, which make oils water-soluble
and which is present in cheese, nuts, onion and leek vegetables
such as leek, chive, onion and garlic, but especially cottage
cheese.
Ferments of cell respiration closely connected with the highly
unsaturated fatty acids, are also needed for proper oxidation.
It is essential to use only unrefined, cold-pressed oils with
high linolic acid content, such as linseed, sunflower, soya,
poppyseed, walnut, and corn oils. Such oil should be consumed
together with foods containing the right proteins otherwise
the oils will have the OPPOSITE EFFECT, causing more harm than
good.
A person requires daily about 4 oz. of cottage cheese mixed
well with 1.5 oz. of linseed oil and 1 oz. of milk. A blender
or egg beater works fine. The mixture an be sweeten with honey
or otherwise flavoured naturally. Fresh fruits can be added.
Every morning 2 spoonfuls of freshly ground linseed oil should
be taken in luke warm buttermilk or yoghurt.
Forbidden foods are:
-sugar (grape juice may be added to sweeten any other freshly
squeezed juices).
- All animal fats, - Butter
- Margarine except cottage cheese.
- All Salad Oils (this included commercial mayonnaise)
- All Meats (chemicals & hormones)
- Preserved Meats (the preservatives block metabolism even of
Flax Oil)

Cancer DietPlan
This is the third of the “Big Three” diets.
Dr. William Donald Kelley, an orthodontist from Washington
State, developed the Kelley Nutritional-Metabolic Cancer Program
in the 1960s. In the 1960s Dr. Kelley was diagnosed with pancreatic
cancer, he developed this program, cured himself and is still
alive today, forty years later. He then taught other cancer
patients his program, which has had phenomenal results leading
to complete cures in many cancer patients. In 1970, Dr. Kelley
was convicted of practicing medicine without a license and in
1976 a court suspended his dental license for five years. Despite
the hardships with conventional medicine, he continued to help
cancer patients by teaching them his program. He passed away
in 2005.
Dr. Kelley developed the Kelley Nutritional-Metabolic Cancer
Program in the 1960s which involves 4 major components: pancreatic
enzymes, nutrition, detoxification and spirituality. The Kelley
Program defines cancer according to Dr. Beard's theory that
states that cancer is a normal, necessary part of life.
Components of the Kelley Program: The pancreatic enzymes are
the anti-tumour element of the program. Studies conducted in
animals demonstrated that enzyme treatment has an anti-tumour
effect. Several case reports documented tumour regression and
even remission in terminal cancer patients treated with pancreatic
enzymes. Enzyme treatment in conjunction with conventional therapy
has been shown to be beneficial. The diet and supplements are
designed to provide a supportive role for the patient's body.
One study demonstrated that the 5-year survival rates of those
patients who employed the nutritional therapy and detoxification
were considerably higher than those reported elsewhere. The
patients perform detoxification with coffee enemas in order
to eliminate toxic materials from the body and to alleviate
pain. The Kelley Program prescribes having faith and encourages
patients to pray. Many researchers have reported that religiosity
and spirituality are associated with enhanced health and well-being
as well as dec reased mortality.
Conclusion: Many studies have shown that each component of
the Kelley program has some effectiveness at treating cancer.
There are also studies that support Beard's original theory
of cancer. Therefore, further investigation of the Kelley program
is definitely necessary to evaluate its effectiveness as a whole,
which includes all 4 components, in order to properly prove
or disprove this cancer treatment.

Kelley to post the first edition of his book on the website:
ONE ANSWER TO
CANCER by William Donald Kelley
THE BREUSS DIET
Breuss maintained that cancer, whenever it occurs in the
body, feeds and grows from protein. He therefore deduced that if
one fasted for what has now been confirmed as an ideal period of
42 days, during which various herbal teas and juices are taken
to detoxify, cleanse and eliminate, the cancer would starve, be
absorbed and subsequently pass out of the body one way or
another. Radical thinking that flew in the face of the accepted
medical wisdom, but is now used all over the world and known as
the Breuss Total Cancer Treatment.
Raw fruit and vegetable juices have always been used and
recommended in natural medicine as part of the healing system
for many ailments and chronic complaints. Raw juices contain
antioxidants and living enzymes that science has identified as
an imperative part of everyone's diet if they wish to stay
healthy and maintain a defense against all the toxins of today's
environment.
It is against this backdrop that Rudolf Breuss developed his
Total Cancer Treatment, utilising the therapeutic properties of
vegetable juices and herbal teas that have been implicated in
the cure of many types of cancer.
The Breuss Tea mix and a specific mixture of organically grown
carrot, beetroot, celery, Chinese radish and potato worked
wonders on his patients. His mixture provided, in liquid form,
all of the minerals and vitamins required by the body during the
42 day fast, whilst the body's own resources are used in dealing
with the diseased tissue. Testimonial after testimonial
confirmed that his treatment worked.
The same blend of the Breuss Vegetable Juice is used in all
manners of diseases, taken for a lesser period of time or with
food, depending on the severity of the condition. Breuss's book
outlines cures for a variety of ailments - serious and those not
so serious.
